Image Ranker is a lightweight tool that helps you rank images by directly comparing them against each other. Everything runs locally in your browser.
How it works
- Upload images from your device.
- Choose a ranking method:
- Full Ranking — exact ordering via comparisons (more matchups).
- Elo System — faster, approximate ranking using ratings (fewer matchups).
- Pick which image is better (or tie).
- Export the final ranking as JSON or PNG, or share a link to your image set before starting!
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Full Ranking and Elo?
Full Ranking creates a consistent total order but typically needs more comparisons. Elo asks fewer questions and estimates a ranking by updating ratings after each matchup.
What does “K” mean in Elo?
K controls how fast ratings change. Higher K reacts faster but can be noisier. Lower K is steadier but needs more matches to settle.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
If you click "Upload Images" and rank them, everything stays local to your browser. If you click "Create Share Link", copies of your images are securely compressed and temporarily stored on our server so your friends can see them.
What does “Tie / Equal” do?
A tie means you consider both images equal for that matchup. In Elo, ties count as 0.5 / 0.5.
